With the cold weather starting to roll in on us Girl Friday has been busy organising Winter Packs and re-stocking kitchen packs to send off to our local women's & children's refuge.
Warmth is something that we can sometimes take for granted, we come inside as the sun goes down, lock up our homes, take nice warm showers putting on our warm pj’s, slippers and dressing gowns. As our children drag warm blankets from the ends of their beds and we turn the air conditioners or heaters on just to take the chill out of the air.
Some families don’t have the luxury of doing any of these things, as mothers and children sleep huddled in one room and share beds just to keep warm.
On the 8th May 2014 we delivered 16 children’s linen packs, with nice warm blankets and flannelette sheets.
Girl Friday has also put 20 mothers linen packs together, warm sheets and blankets, fresh towels and more coming their way.
